Stop and Shop Savings

Just like Shoprite, Stop and Shop will double coupons with a value of under a $1.  For example if you have a coupon for $0.70 off a box of cereal then it will double to $1.40 at checkout.  These doubled coupons really make it hard to ignore those coupon inserts in the Sunday paper.  Now that you have doubled coupons for the store you need to go a step further and register your savings card online.  Stop and Shop has just recently started making digital coupons available to their register online users.  Since it is a pilot program they are very limited and only offered every once and a while.
Stop and Shop offers a very unique program that is not available at any other store.  Scan it or U-Scan is available to all customers with a registered savings card.  Simply scan your card at the Scan-it kiosk right inside the door and collect your scanner.  You are then able to scan your items as you shop and then immediately bag them into bags in your cart.  At checkout you can go through self checkout and can a bar code to complete your order, then your savings card to adjust your total, then your coupons for all your deals and then pay and walk out.  No hassle checkout and no crushed groceries.  One more benefit is that they give you extra deals on products if you use the Scan it system such as $0.50 of a box of pasta.
Stop and Shop is also known for its long term deals.  Their most notable is the 5% off deal.  They will allow you to accumulate points over a long period of time such as a month in order to reach 300 points.  Each dollar you spend is one point and when you hit 300 you get a coupon at checkout for 5% off your next order.  There is no limit to how many times you hit 300 while the deal is being offered.
Lastly a few coupon rules at Stop and Shop.  They only allow four like coupons in one transaction.  If you have more than four of the same coupon then you must do multiple checkouts.  Also if you bring your own reusable bags they will give $0.05 off your total for each bag.  Finally pay attention to your receipt because if a product does not ring up at the correct price you get that product for free!
Remember Stop and Shop sales start on Friday and end on Thursday.
